Dyson Spurgeon Obituary

Dyson was affectionately known as a “Jackle” (Jack Russell and Beagle mix.) I adopted her from a rescue in Evansville at 9 weeks old.  She was only 3 lbs and rode asleep on my shoulder like a parrot for the 3 hour drive back to Indy.  She was such a sweet, kind, gentle, smart, and loving dog.  She loved playing with her big sis, Dagsy, and her cousins, Kali, Layla, and Phoebe.  She loved eating treats, taking walks, chasing ducks, and playing in the snow.  She was an expert “carpet swimmer” and “grass swimmer”, rolling and slithering around on her back.  She loved snuggling under a blanket, whether on the couch, recliner, or in bed.  Glaucoma claimed one of her eyes and eventually the sight in her other one but it never really slowed her down too much. Even when she lost both her vision and hearing, she still navigated the doggie door and never had any accidents in the house, an incredible feat for a 17 year old dog.  She crossed the rainbow bridge on July 23, 2023, after battling congestive heart disease for a couple of years.  She is missed terribly by her mom, dad and sister. We miss the click of her toenails on the vinyl flooring and the sound of her gentle “thuds” as she navigated our new home as a blind/deaf senior dog.
